PUEBLO, Colo.—The new Pueblo fire station under construction is becoming a hotspot for crime.
In the past five months, police have been called to the new station eight times. Burglars have taken more than $43,000 in property including high-priced monitoring equipment, scrap metal and tools.
According to the Pueblo Chieftain ( ), Police Chief Luis Velez said site security is the responsibility of the construction company and extra patrols weren’t assigned to check on the station.
