John Bailey’s week-long Joint Effort Colorado Basketball Classic and Western Regional tournament will culminate Saturday at Manual’s Thunderdome.
The boys challenge game, Colorado versus New Jersey, will cap the event with an 8 p.m. tipoff.
The event offers an array of awards and honors, including recognizing players of the year — Cory Calvert, Chaparral, and Josh Scott, Lewis-Palmer, for boys; and Kailey Edwards, Legacy, for girls.
Dick Katte, who has retired from Denver Christian after 876 victories, eight boys state championships and 52 years, will be honored as a coach of the year and for lifetime achievement.
