DENVER—A man who pleaded guilty to drug distribution charges has been sentenced in Denver federal court to 22 1/2 years in prison.
The U.S. attorney’s office says Oscar Arriola was sentenced Friday. He was also ordered to pay a $1 million fine.
Arriola reached a plea deal with prosecutors in December. He pleaded guilty to charges of conspiracy to import, possess and distribute cocaine and conspiracy to launder money.
Arriola was indicted by a federal grand jury in Denver in 2003. Mexican authorities arrested him in 2006, and he was extradited to the United States in 2010.
He and others were accused of using a remote Colorado ranch house to store hundreds of pounds of cocaine headed to large U.S. cities.
