ENGLEWOOD, Colo.—The U.S. Marshals Service is searching for two inmates who escaped from a minimum-security federal prison work camp.
Deputy U.S. Marshal Charles Ahmad says 48-year-old Victor Beltran Rodriguez and 30-year-old Eric Rivera remained at large Monday. Both were reported missing from the prison camp at Federal Correctional Institution-Englewood Friday afternoon. The facility is next to the minimum-security federal prison where former Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich began serving his prison sentence last month.
Rodriguez was serving a sentence of possession with intent to distribute 5 kilograms or more of cocaine. KUSA-TV reports ( ) Rodriguez was scheduled to be released in June 2019.
Rivera was serving a sentence for conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine. He was scheduled for release in December 2014.
