DENVER—Gov. John Hickenlooper says the Pedal the Plains bicycle tour this September will start and end in Yuma, with overnight stops in Burlington and Wray.

The Denver Post ( ) reports Hickenlooper unveiled the route Friday and called the ride “Colorado’s next big cycling event.”

The three-day plains tour is designed for Coloradans and is associated with the USA Pro Cycling Challenge, which debuted in Colorado last summer. The plains tour also will feature a family cruiser ride and will cover 20 to 100 miles each day.

The seven-day USA Pro Cycling Challenge runs in August.
