DENVER—Denver prosecutors say they won’t file charges against a driver in connection with a crash that killed a jogger because it appears the driver suffered a medical condition that led to the crash.
However, prosecutors said Wednesday that Eduardo Duarte-Alegria does face a charge alleging he was driving a vehicle that wasn’t equipped with an interlock device. State officials say such devices are meant to prevent people from driving while under the influence of alcohol.
Duarte-Alegria was driving an SUV that struck Michael Sanders while he was jogging in south Denver on April 8. The SUV slammed into a house after hitting Sanders.
