Interstate 76 reopened about 1:30 p.m. after an accident in westbound lanes forced an hourlong closure, the State Patrol reports.

A 2009 Mack truck with trailer and a 1999 Chevy pickup collided about 12:20 p.m. on I-76 just before Exit 3, Federal Boulevard, in Adams County.

A 21-year-old woman in the pickup truck was extricated from wreckage and taken to Denver General Hospital for treatment of minor to moderate injuries, Trooper Josh Lewis said.

The 58-year-old male driver of the semi was not injured, Lewis said.

Officials didn’t release any information about the cause of the accident. Early reports of a possible fuel spill proved unfounded, Lewis said.

North Washington Fire Protection District was also at the scene.
