A bear was found roaming around a neighborhood near Federal Heights on Monday morning.
Adams County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Sgt. Terrance O’Neill said the 300-pound black bear was in the 8300 block of Shoshone Street, near the southwest corner of Pecos Street and West 84th Avenue.
At 8 a.m., the Sheriff’s Office decided to tape off the area where the bear was, to ensure its safety and that of those around it. They also diverted traffic from the area.
Colorado Parks and Wildlife arrived on the scene and tranquilized the bear because it was near people.
