A driver who rear-ended a car in Boulder tried to pin the crash on his dog, police said.
About 8 p.m. on Wednesday police responded to an accident on Broadway at Baseline Road, according to the Boulder Police Department crime blotter.
When officers arrived, the driver of the car that rear-ended the other vehicle told police that his “dog jumped in his lap and he automatically grabbed him,” the blotter said.
“Police noticed a strong odor of alcohol when they contacted the driver, who was generally uncooperative.”
The 31-year-old driver, who was not identified, was arrested on suspicion of DUI, failure to appear and careless driving, among other possible charges.
