BOULDER, Colo.—A Boulder police officer is facing charges of attempted murder, stalking and harassment in a domestic violence case.
Authorities said Dale McCracken of Frederick retrieved two of his guns from work while on medical leave. A police report says that afterward, McCracken told his roommate he was going to kill his ex-girlfriend and shoot one of her friends before killing himself.
The former girlfriend and her friend are both police dispatchers.
.McCracken was arrested over the weekend and his bond was raised to $500,000 after additional charges were filed on Thursday.
Police are also conducting an internal investigation.
