All about hummingbirds. The Saturday in Colorado Springs. There will be hummingbird programs, live birds of prey, educational and nature product vendors, crafts and face painting, magic shows, carnival games, a hummingbird native plant sale, food, silent auction, six live bands and more. or 719-385-6086

Birding festival. The will take place Wednesday through May 13. Participants can enjoy tours throughout the Four Corners area, from birding areas in and around Cortez, La Plata County, Farmington area lakes, Newspaper Rock, Utah, and an overnight trip to see the Condors of Vermilion Cliffs in Arizona. All tours are led by expert birders, in vans provided by community organizations, and include snacks, water and lunches. Registration is now open. or 970-565-1151

Hotel de Paris lecture. The will host a free public lecture May 25 at the National Trust Historic Site in Georgetown. Archaeologist Thomas Witt will speak about excavated artifacts recently recovered at Louis Dupuy’s Hotel de Paris and how style and taste flourished on the Colorado frontier. New this year, visitors will have the opportunity to touch select historic artifacts.

Achoria Leland Mine tour. The will take place May 26. The tour will showcase the 1890s mining operations on Gold Hill in Victor that made Achoria Leland one of the great gold producers of more than $3 million worth of gold.
