WHITEVILLE, Tenn. — Authorities were working Sunday to identify two bodies found at a Mississippi residence associated with a man suspected of abducting a woman and her three daughters.

The FBI has said two bodies were found over the weekend at a home connected to 35-year-old Adam Mayes in Guntown, Miss., but agents have released few other details. Authorities think Mayes abducted the woman, Jo Ann Bain, and her daughters, ages 8, 12 and 14.

FBI spokesman Joel Siskovic said Sunday that efforts to identify the bodies continued. He would not say whether they were children.

Authorities said Mayes was at the family’s home on the night that Bain went missing late last month. They were trying to determine whether Bain went with Mayes willingly.

Mayes was last seen Tuesday in Guntown, about 80 miles southeast of the Bains’ Tennessee home. He had been described as a family friend.

The FBI and the U.S. Marshals Service announced Saturday a reward of up to $50,000 for information that leads to the location of the missing victims and the arrest of Mayes.
