BOULDER, Colo.—A Boulder police officer accused of planning to kill his ex-girlfriend’s new boyfriend has been formally charged with several felonies.

The Daily Camera ( ) reports Christian McCracken was charged Friday with attempted first-degree-murder, one count of felony menacing and three counts of felony stalking. He is being held on $500,000 bail.

Investigators say McCracken told his roommate he was going to kill his ex-girlfriend’s new boyfriend in front of her before killing himself.

The former girlfriend and her boyfriend are both police dispatchers.

McCracken also is facing drug charges in a separate case.
