PARKER, Colo.—Two Parker women are facing charges after authorities said they falsely claimed they were victims of hate crimes because they are lesbians.

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said Thursday Aimee Whitchurch and Christel Conklin are now facing charges of false reporting and criminal mischief.

According to the Denver Post ( ), the women painted an anti-gay slur on their garage door and hung a noose on their front door during a dispute with neighbors.
