PUEBLO, Colo.—A man involved in the shooting of a police officer is back in custody after he failed to return to the Colorado Mental Health Institute in Pueblo
KRDO TV reports ( ) 50-year-old Ronald Braa was found walking along Interstate 25 Friday.
Braa signed out of the hospital Thursday but didn’t return. At the time, Braa had permission to leave on condition he return by a set time.
According to the Pueblo Chieftain (), Braa was committed to the facility in 2007 after being found not guilty of attempted first-degree murder of a police officer by reason of insanity.
The incident in Douglas County also included charges of stalking, violation of bail bond and a protection order violation. Additional details were not available.
