Girl Scout Troop 2879 from Aurora is sponsoring electronics recycling events at three metro Denver locations Sunday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The event will take place in Aurora at Grandview High School; in Denver at The Shops at Northfield Stapleton (north of Off Broadway Shoes and east of Macy’s); and in Lone Tree in the south parking lot of Sky Ridge Medical Center.

In a media release, the troop said Metech Recycling will ensure personal data is destroyed and 95 percent of all materials will be recycled and none incinerated, put in a landfill or shipped abroad.

Charges apply: $10 for small TVs and computer monitors, $15 for TVs with screens larger than 20 inches, and $1 for laptops, printers, fax machine, VCRs, keyboards and other small electronics.

Girl Scouts also will be accepting donations for Grants for Girls, a program that provides financial help for girls whose families cannot afford materials related to scouting.
