EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. —The Super Bowl champion New York Giants and two-time Pro Bowl defensive end Osi Umenyiora have ended their feud.
The Giants announced Friday they signed Umenyiora to a restructured contract, ending a contract dispute that had put the defensive end at odds with general manager Jerry Reese. Terms of the deal were not immediately available.
Umenyiora has contended for more than a year that Reese promised to renegotiate his contract and then reneged on the offer.
“I appreciate Osi’s patience and effort through this process,” Reese said. “We talked it out, and it makes sense for everybody involved.”
