The Taste of Ouray will take place on Wednesday from 4:30-8 p.m. The event features samplings of local cuisine, brews and wine, demonstrations and competitions. Attendees exchange tasting tickets for samples and vote for their favorites. Admission is free; tasting tickets are $1 each. or 970-325-4746
Blues fest in Greeley
The Greeley Blues Jam will take place Saturday. Jimmie Vaughan will headline the festival, joined by the Otis Taylor Band, The Soul Rebels, Kelley Hunt and Eddie Turner. Tickets are $25 in advance, $30 at the gate.
Wildflower festivities
The Wildflower Festival at the Lookout Mountain Nature Center will take place on June 10. Enjoy native wildflowers along with activities for the whole family. Learn to identify invasive weeds, enjoy a wildflower hike and browse the native plants available for sale. Kids can make crafts and watch a puppet show. Free admission. Hikes will be at 11:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.; puppet shows will be at 11:15 a.m. and 2:15 p.m. All other activities are ongoing. 720-497-7600
Artist’s trip to the West commemorated
The Fort Laramie National Historic Site will commemorate the 175th anniversary of artist Alfred Jacob Miller’s 1837 trip to the Rocky Mountain West on June 15-17. Activities will include talks, demonstrations, and re-creations of the scenes Miller saw. Artists are encouraged to bring their sketch pads and photographers their cameras.
