GALETON, Colo.—Weld County sheriff’s officials say a Greeley man is hospitalized in stable condition after he accidentally shot himself in the stomach at the Galeton shooting range.

Sheriff’s deputies say 71-year-old Wayne Harrison of Greeley was alert and talking after the accident Wednesday afternoon. Sheriff’s spokesman Shane Scofield says Harrison is expected to recover.

Scofield says Harrison was attempting to put a .357-cailber revolver into a shoulder holster when the weapon discharged.
