NEDERLAND, Colo.—Colorado Parks and Wildlife officials say a young moose that wandered into a skate park bowl in Nederland has died after being tranquilized.
Nederland Police Chief Jake Adler tells the Daily Camera ( ) the moose entered the skate park Wednesday morning. He says it may have been trying to get to Barker Reservoir when it got startled by people who were fishing and ran toward the skate park.
Parks and Wildlife spokesman Randy Hampton says the moose was very stressed by the time wildlife officers arrived. Wildlife officers tranquilized it to move it out of the skate park bowl, but the moose died before rangers could relocate it.
