Comedy: Brian Posehn is a giant metal nerd
Friday-saturday. It’s a bit of an understatement to call comedian and actor Brian Posehn a huge stoner-metal nerd. Not only does the alt-comedy hero truly love his weed and dark, doom-soaked music, he’s also an imposing presence on stage — and screen, if you count his stints on the brilliant “Mr. Show,” the so-so “Just Shoot Me,” the dearly departed “Sarah Silverman Program” and many other TV comedies. At 6 foot 6, Posehn isn’t just tall and wide, he also sports a wicked beard and a booming (if occasionally strangled-sounding) voice that he uses to great effect on such subtly titled albums as “Nerd Rage” and “Fart and Weiner Jokes.” He plays Comedy Works at Larimer Square at 8 and 10 p.m. Friday, and 7:15 and 9:45 p.m. Saturday. $25. 1226 15th St. 303-595-3637 or .
