The lightning-sparked wildfire near Eagle was 100 percent contained Friday, officials announced. Mop-up operations will continue on Saturday.
The Eagle County Sheriff’s Office received a call around 6 p.m. Thursday reporting the Eby Creek fire, which is estimated at 8 acres.
Pre-evacuation notices have been lifted for 75 homes located east of Eby Creek Road and in the Castle Peak Ranch area.
A Black Hawk helicopter and Chinook helicopter did water bucket drops, and 60 crew members worked on the fire on the ground.
