Two new wildfires are burning on the Western Slope Tuesday night.
Moffat County Sheriff Tim Jantz told the Craig Daily Press a fire estimated at 100 acres is “running” in near Maybello about 30 miles west of Craig.
And in Mesa County, residents in a 5-mile radius around the town of Molina have been told to be ready to evacuate because of a growing wildfire.
The Bull Basin fire was last reported at less than 20 acres, but has a high growth potential, according to the Mesa County Sheriff’s Department.
The pre-evacuation notice when out to 548 phone lines.
Molina is north of Grand Mesa National Forest about 20 miles east of Palisade.
