DENVER—KMGH-TV says investigative reporter John Ferrugia (fair-OO-jah) has been awarded the Missouri School of Journalism’s Missouri Honor Medal.

The station reported Wednesday that Ferrugia will receive the award in October.

The award is given for lifetime or superior achievement and for distinguished service in journalism. Winners are chosen by the school’s faculty.

Previous winners include Christiane Amanpour of CNN, Tom Brokaw of NBC News, Molly Ivins of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, Linda Deutsch of The Associated Press and Charles Kuralt of CBS News.
