A sexually violent predator police suspected was living in Longmont as a transient was arrested Tuesday afternoon in Boulder on a warrant for failing to register as a sex offender.
Longmont police believed Cody Hollingshead, 48, would be moving into a home in the 100 block of Sunset Street last week when they learned he had been kicked out of the home. He had until Saturday to register his new whereabouts per the legal requirements of the sexual violent predator title. When he did not, police secured an arrest warrant. He was found outside of a Safeway at 3385 28th St. in Boulder wearing pink or purple scrubs.
Boulder police in 2003 found Hollingshead assaulting a woman, and she told police he assaulted her and had suffered injuries, according to reports. He pleaded guilty to attempted sexual assault in 2004 and was sentenced to two years in prison. He returned to prison because of parole violations. He was released in August 2011.
