CLIFTON, Colo.—The Mesa County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after one person was struck and killed by Amtrak’s California Zephyr near Clifton.
Authorities say they are still trying to determine the reason for the accident and identify the victim after Tuesday’s accident.
Nearly 300 people were on the westbound train at the time of the accident.
Authorities say they do not consider the death suspicious.
