Festival: Parade, midway and critters at Boulder County Fair

Through aug. 5. Celebrate the bounty of Boulder County at the Boulder County Fair — festivities begin Saturday with a parade through downtown Longmont. Monday and Tuesday are reserved for livestock judging, but the fair reopens in earnest on Wednesday. Look for a vintage farm equipment show, rodeo competitions, a karaoke contest, a scavenger hunt for kids and a petting zoo. Listen to live music in the Fair Garden, too. Parade: 10 a.m. Saturday. Downtown Longmont. 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Wednesday through Aug. 4; hours reduced on Aug. 5. Boulder County Fairgrounds, 9595 Nelson Road, Longmont; 720-864-6460. Free.
