A man suspected of crashing a stolen motorcycle and leading police on a foot chase was carrying heroin and other drugs, police said.
Thomas Ray Collins, 29, of Fort Collins, was arrested Wednesday night, according to a Larimer County Sheriff’s Office news release.
At about 8:30 p.m. sheriff’s deputies tried to stop a 2003 Yamaha motorcycle on Magnolia Street near City Park Avenue, the sheriff’s office said.
The driver tried to elude deputies and the motorcycle crashed in the 1600 block of Laporte Avenue. The driver then fled on foot.
Using dogs, deputies tracked the suspect to the 1600 block of Collins Court. The suspect was uncooperative, the sheriff’s office said, and he was twice bit by a police dog.
When taken into custody deputies found Collins in possession of heroin and Oxycodone pills, the sheriff’s office said.
He is being held at the Larimer County Jail on suspicion of multiple felonies including theft by receiving, vehicular eluding, and possession of drugs.
