Getting your player ready...
Prospectors Run, the very successful alpine townhome concept in Central City, has your whole day planned out for you today and tomorrow: Come see a grand opening of a spacious ‘Antero’ model and they’ll fix you and the family up with hot dogs, a $5 gambling credit at Johnny Z’s Casino, free ice cream or Starbucks coffee while you’re at the tables, and directions to all of the summer attractions nearby, including the opera house, museum, visitor center, and art gallery.
Some lucky visitor will walk away with Club Level seats for four at the Rockies; and another with a $100 credit at Johnny Z’s (You’ll need to be 21 to take advantage of that or the other casino cards). This is also a chance to get a different take on how you might style a mountain retreat – not at all the woodsy, log look; a much more contemporary approach that works well with the views of the aspens. Next month, the Antero will be one of only three homes to compete in the American Furniture Warehouse Design Challenge at the annual Parade of Homes; but you can view it this weekend. Along with design aspects, you’ll see Prospectors Run’s newest appeal to Central City buyers, some of them after a reasonably priced resort home, others a retirement place that still has access to Denver sports attractions. Prospectors Run works either way, says Marketing Director Rita Lee – with the town’s casino appeal (doing very well, says Johnny Z’s owner John Zimple, with revenues in Central City up 25% year over year); along with the 4-wheel drive roads and a town residents’ stocked trout lake, that draw a gaggle of kids and grandkids on weekends. Lee and Builder Bob Patterson designed this Antero ($279,800 for everything but the furnishings) for just that buyer: San Francisco architecture to blend with Central City’s historic buildings; 1,656 square feet with wide-open entertaining area; light from three sides; big master with 5-piece bath; rear deck surrounded by aspens; optimal energy package including tankless water heater, 95%-efficient furnace, and super R-50/R-23 insulation; and 3-car garage with room for ATVs and other mountain gear. You’ll see a second home ready, only $229,650, including a furnished main level; and eight more sites where you could contract one to your own preferences – an elevator, if you want. Johnny Z’s will make a Red Cross donation for every visitor that stops in to redeem the Starbucks/$5 gambling credit. Prospectors Run is 40 minutes from Denver; from I-70 take Central City Parkway through Central City (Spring St.) to Eureka, turn left, watch for yellow signs.
