• Chicago-based Yumz Gourmet Frozen Yogurt says it plans to open locations in Denver. The chain plans to open 15 additional stores across the United States before the end of the year. The franchiser is targeting multi-unit franchisees and entrepreneurs to join the system.

• Dish Network Corp., a Douglas County-based satellite TV provider, was recognized by IDG’s CIO magazine for undertaking a overhaul of its billing system and related technologies.

• Hangover Joe’s Holding Corp., a Colorado Springs-based provider of a hangover recovery shot, is trading on the OTC Bulletin Board under the symbol HJOE. Hangover Joe’s retained the services of GBS Smash! Brands to lead its expansion efforts.

• Fort Collins-based OtterBox, a maker of cases for hand-held devices, plans to open a new facility in Frederick by the end of the month.

• Denver-based Pinnacol Assurance received nine communications awards from the American Association of State Compensation Insurance Funds. Pinnacol received six first place awards, two second place awards and the competition’s top award, best in show.

• Koglin Group LLC of Louisville signed a contract with NCR Corp. to install electrical and data services in Wendy’s restaurants in Tampa, Fla. It also was chosen to provide data service to Sonic restaurants in Oklahoma City.

• EnerCom Inc. will host the Oil & Gas Conference at the Westin Denver Downtown Aug. 12-16. The conference is the oldest and largest energy investment conference hosted in Denver.

• Skate City has purchased the U.S. on Wheels rink in Arvada near 64th Avenue and Sheridan Boulevard. The location will be closed Aug. 20-30 as Skate City completes remodeling and renovations.
