A woman who died in a fatal car crash in Denver has been identified.

Candace Stuart, 66, of Denver, died of multiple injuries sustained in a two-vehicle crash Saturday at East 13th Avenue and Olive Street, according to the Denver Office of the Medical Examiner.

Aurora police on Monday arrested 29-year-old George West, of Denver, on suspicion of vehicular homicide in Stuart’s death.

West is accused of incident in the 1100 block of North Clinton Street prior to the crash.

When Aurora police arrived at the shooting , a red car evaded them and sped away, leading officers on a chase of about two miles when the car crashed into Stuart’s vehicle.

Three men, including West, were taken into custody.

The woman who was shot in Aurora was treated for injuries that were not life-threatening. Further details on her condition were not available. The criminal case against West is ongoing.
