Two men have been arrested in connection with an alleged assault with knives and a beer bottle in a Wheat Ridge home last week.

Wheat Ridge police responded to an unknown situation at 2:30 a.m. July 27 at the 2700 block of Fenton Street after receiving a call from Lluiva Alejandra Robles, 20.

Robles reported that her ex-husband and an unknown man kicked open the front door of the apartment while she and her boyfriend, Andres Sanchez , 21, were in bed.

Police identified the ex-husband as Miguel Angel Luevano-Robles , 21, and the second suspect as Juan Del-Palacio , 31. Both are from Denver.

Robles told police Luevano-Robles and Del-Palacio violently assaulted Sanchez using knives and smashing a broken a beer bottle over his head. Sanchez received multiple stab wounds and serious lacerations to his hands, arms, face and head. He has since been released from the hospital.

Police reported that Sanchez was able to escape the scene. Witnesses said they saw the suspects chasing Sanchez. But both suspects fled the scene when police arrived.

Luevano-Robles and Del-Palacio are being held at the Jefferson County Detention Center and face charges including first-degree assault, felony menacing and first-degree burglary.
