AURORA, Colo.—Aurora school officials are offering counseling and other services to students returning to school Thursday because about 50 Gateway High School students were at a movie theater when a gunman opened fire and one student died.

School officials are planning increased security and a crisis-management committee to help students, staff and others affected by the massacre.

According to the Denver Post ( ), about 40 parents and staff attended a meeting to get details from school officials, as well as Police Chief Dan Oates and two psychiatrists.
