FOUNTAIN, Colo.—Fountain police say officers responding to a domestic violence call shot and wounded a man who was threatening to harm his family.

Deputy Chief Bill Elder tells KRDO-TV ( ) that officers were called to a home in the southeastern part of the city at about 1 a.m. Sunday. He says the man, whose name has not been released, threatened to shoot his family and fired one round inside the home.

Elder says a woman and two young children were present, but they were not hurt.

The deputy chief says the man is being treated at a nearby hospital. His condition remains unclear.
