NORTHBRIDGE, Mass.—A Massachusetts lawyer who has served as a Boy Scout leader, a substitute middle school teacher and on his town’s school committee has been charged with trying to get a 12-year-old Colorado boy to perform sexual acts over the Internet.
Andrew Myers of Northbridge was arrested Tuesday on charges of possessing child pornography and enticing minors to engage in illegal sex.
Prosecutors say the 34-year-old Myers had been communicating via email and Skype with a 12-year-old Larimer County, Colo., boy and allegedly enticed the boy to display sexual acts. Police were tipped off by the boy’s mother.
Authorities also allege Myers communicated via email with at least three suspected minor boys in Massachusetts and offered to perform sexual acts on them.
His parents and lawyer had no comment.
