BOULDER, Colo.—Boulder officials have reached an agreement with a synagogue to allow homeless people to continue camping on their property.

City officials sent a letter to the synagogue this year saying the residential estate zoning classification prohibits camping, even with the property owner’s permission.

Congregation Har Hashem began allowing a small number of people to camp on the grounds last summer when all other shelters are closed.

According to the Boulder Daily Camera ( ), the city has decided to recognize the camp as an accessory use to the congregation’s religious mission.
