GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.—Mesa County chief deputy district attorney Dan Rubinstein says arrest records for four people accused in a murder will remain sealed because of concerns over witness intimidation.
Despite the secrecy, a plea agreement has been reached resolving one of the cases connected to an alleged gang-related slaying and crime wave in Grand Junction last summer.
According to the Grand Junction Daily Sentinel ( ), Lester Miranda-Davis of Clifton faces a prison sentence of 24 to 48 years after agreeing to plead guilty to second-degree murder, menacing and robbery, according to a signed plea agreement filed last week at the Mesa County Justice Center.
Authorities say the crime spree left 31-year-old Jorge Alberto Carrasco dead in July 2011 outside a Taco Bell restaurant.
