DENVER—Gart Capital Partners plans to relocate its Magellan’s Travel Supplies affiliate from Santa Barbara, Calif., to the Denver area.

The Denver Post reports () the move will bring 74 jobs to the Denver area, which will serve as the base of Magellan’s corporate operations, catalog call center and distribution facility. Of the 74 jobs, six to 10 will be taken by California-based employees who are relocating to Denver. The rest will be hired locally.

Magellan’s operates retail stores in Santa Barbara and Santa Monica and has about 1.8 million catalog and e-commerce customers.

It merged in December with Gart Capital Partners’ Colorado Bag’n Baggage subsidiary. The subsidiary’s president, Tom Nelson, says Gart plans to open Magellan’s retail stores in metro Denver and elsewhere nationally in the next few years.
