BOULDER, Colo.—A Boulder watchdog group is trying to block printing of Boulder County ballots because of a new system for numbering them.
The group Citizen Center has filed a request for a federal restraining order to stop the printing of Boulder County’s ballots with distinguishing serial numbers. A hearing on the request is scheduled for Sept. 21.
Boulder County Clerk Hillary Hall says the new system will improve efficiency counting ballots while still protecting voter identities.
According to the Boulder Daily Camera ( ), Hall has contingency plans if a federal judge grants the restraining order, but she declined to discuss the details.
