DENVER—Frontier Airlines says it will discontinue Denver flights to and from Provo, Utah, after Jan. 7.

The Denver Post ( ) reports airline spokeswoman Lindsey Carpenter, citing “competitive reasons,” declined to give specific details about why the company is stopping the service.

Provo Mayor John Curtis said in a statement it had to do with a reduction in the Denver-based carrier’s fleet of smaller aircraft.
