announced Monday a new nonstop service between Denver and Cleveland, with four weekly flights beginning Jan. 9.

“We’ve seen incredible demand for low-fare, high-value nonstop service to Denver throughout the northeast Ohio region,” said Daniel Shurz, Frontier’s senior vice president of commercial, in a press release.

The 168-seat Airbus 320 aircraft will leave at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays. The flights from Cleveland Hopkins International Airport to DIA will leave at 5:50 p.m. on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays.

Coinciding with the new route is the elimination of Frontier’s nonstop route between DIA and Akron-Canton Airport. The airline is consolidating all northeastern Ohio operations at Cleveland on Jan. 9.

Frontier currently services flights to Cancun, Mexico and Punta Cana, Dominican Republic from Cleveland.

“This new service to the Rocky Mountain region is a great added bonus for Cleveland travelers,” said Ricky Smith,Cleveland’s airport director, in the release.

Frontier is offering one-way fares as low as $80 for the route between now until Sept. 30 for those passengers who book on its website. Last week, customers who booked on a a third-party websites such as Expedia, Travelocity or Orbitz.
