BOULDER, Colo.—Boulder County clerk Hillary Hall says a printing company made the decision to bar election activists from inspecting ballots for the November election.
Activist Mary Eberle says the printers initially told them they could watch if Boulder County officials approved, but the printers turned the activists away over the weekend, saying they said they were under the mistaken impression the activists worked for the county.
According to the Boulder Daily Camera ( ), printing and sorting of ballots is not one of the steps in the election process that state law requires observers be allowed to watch.
Eberle says activists are worried that the ballots can be traced back to individual voters.
