A Denver police officer injured his hand while he was trying to arrest a suspect this morning on West Alameda Avenue near Clay Street, authorities say.
A suspect in his early 20s was arrested for investigation of assaulting an officer, a felony offense, according to Detective John White, Denver police spokesman.
The officer contacted the suspect at about 9:20 a.m., White said. The man attacked the officer, injuring his hand, he said.
An ambulance took the officer to a local hospital where he was treated for the minor hand injury, White said.
