 Denver could move within striking distance of a record high temperature for the date on Wednesday, with the forecast calling for 74 degrees.

The record high for Nov. 7 is . Four degrees is a reasonable miss for this turbulent weather period, when summer, fall and winter weather change places quickly.

Forecasters to reach a high of 72, but the temperature at 63 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.

Sunny, unseasonably warm , through Friday, then precipitation and a cold front roll across the state. Denver might reach 43 degrees Saturday and just 34 Sunday, with lows near 20 each night.

Only light snow, if any, is expected on the Front Range, however.

High temperatures are expected to recover only to the high 40s early next week.

The high country has a better chance of snow this weekend with low temperature about 10 degrees, but on Tuesday forecasters said the storm’s timing, snowfall amounts and wind speed were still uncertain.

“Some changes to the forecast can be expected over the next few days,” the National Weather Service stated Tuesday afternoon.
