AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo.—A military court hearing is getting under way for an Air Force Academy cadet charged with sexual misconduct.
An evidence hearing began Wednesday to determine whether football player Anthony Daniels Jr. should face a court-martial on charges of sodomy, attempted sodomy and aggravated sexual conduct.
The Gazette reports ( ) Daniels is accused of forcing one female cadet’s head onto his groin and of forcing another female cadet into oral sex. Daniels’ attorney Maj. Beth Hernandez said neither accuser screamed, punched or kicked Daniels during the encounters.
Daniels is one of at least five cadets charged with sexual misconduct this year. One was convicted and sentenced to prison, and another had charges dropped. The other cases are still in the military court system.
