DURANGO, Colo.—Firefighters are being released from a wildfire west of the Vallecito (vy-uh-SEE’-toh) Reservoir in southwest Colorado, now that an inch of wet snow has fallen on it.

Fire officials said Friday that the 1,400-acre Vallecito Fire will be monitored if weather conditions warrant or until more moisture accumulates.

The fire started Oct. 12. Its cause is undetermined.
