King Tuff, a.k.a. Kyle Thomas, describes himself repeatedly as a “bad, bad, bad thing” during the chorus of his aptly titled song “Bad Thing” — one of the Top 50 Songs of 2012,  But this king of sleazy rock ‘n’ rock seemingly has a soft spot for all things animals, recently performing at the to benefit a sick Dachshund pup.

Helping cuddly small dogs might be an understandable undertaking, but having a love for all things mice as well? Turns out “Somewhere Out There” from the 1986 animated movie “An American Tail.” The movie was a staple for anyone growing up in the late 1980s or ’90s, the heartbreaking tale (or tail, as it were) of a Russian/Jewish mouse who gets separated from his family after they immigrate to America. The show-stopping number is none other than “Somewhere Out There,” which — warning — will be stuck in your head for a solid day and a half, if not more.

Yes, fans of Fievel and his entire Mouskewitz family, there is now an electronic, pop/rock mishmash cover of this song, filled with as much echoey keyboard as your hearts desire. Enjoy the sweet, nasally sincerity below.
