The 39th AMC Cancer Fund Men’s Event, a $750-a-ticket dinner at , raised research dollars for the while a James Bond-themed Men’s Night Out at in the Cherry Creek Shopping Center supported men’s health initiatives at .

NFL Hall of Fame quarterback John Elway served as honorary chairman for the dinner held at his steakhouse, which was packed to the rafters thanks to the ticket-selling ability of event chairs Jim Basey, Charlie Gallagher, Bob Kaufman, Gary Kortz, Bob Malone, Dick Robinson, John DellaSalle, Steve Toltz and Adam Writer.
Several nights later, all roads seemed to lead to Hyde Park Jewelers where owner Michael Pollak served as host for the James Bond-themed Men’s Night Out.
Pollak, a member of the Denver Health Foundation board of directors, chose the theme because he’d just opened an watch store adjacent to Hyde Park, and Omega watches are a favorite of Agent 007.
Omega’s president, Gregory Swift, was there to oversee a drawing for one of the pricey timepieces. Aaron LaPedis, owner of and author of “Garage Sale Millionaire,” held the winning ticket.
