The number of background checks to be processed for a gun in Colorado is finally declining, but the wait time continues to increase.
According to the Colorado Bureau of Investigation, the wait time for a background check is currently at nine days and almost two hours as of Tuesday afternoon.
The process that usually takes minutes has been backlogged for weeks following a massive rush in the state to purchase guns.
There were 11,845 checks to be processed on Tuesday. CBI staff worked the holiday.
