The Rocky Mountain Sew Expo is a with seminars, vendors, workshops, demonstrations, fashion shows, exhibits and make-it-take-it projects for quilting, sewing and embroidery fans of all levels. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Feb. 9. Admission is $10, good for all three days ($1 discount coupons are available on the website and most craft, fabric and sewing stores). Celebrate the one-year anniversary of Cinema Day in Colorado with a reception from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the History Colorado Center, 1200 Broadway. CINEMA is a statewide advocacy group promoting Colorado’s film industry. Guests will hear from and meet Steve Turner, vice president of Preservation Programs at History Colorado, and Donald Zuckerman, director of the Colorado Office of Film, Television & Media. Compete, play, eat and drink are the key words for the second annual Winter Festival happening 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Feb. 9 at Evergreen Lake. There’ll be an Ice Bike Race, Tightline Ice Fishing Derby, Snowman Walk, pro Ski & Snowboard Rail Jam and a Snow Castle Play Area — plus a performance by the Snowflake Circus. Fireworks wrap up the day’s festivities. General admission is $10 for ages 13 and over, free to children 12 and under.
